As a Managing Partner for Pinpoint Wealth Partners, Michael’s career has been structured around helping clients navigate through the complexity of estate and business succession planning. He has been working with individuals, families and business owners for over four decades to gain clarity for problems they may be facing where life insurance can be a vehicle to get them from point A to point B. Michael is passionate about helping clients implement a plan that provides them with true peace of mind.
Michael graduated from University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and decided to enter the financial services and insurance industry straight out of college because it looked interesting – and he needed a job! Throughout the years, he grew to understand how insurance is an integral part of holistic planning. He decided to establish his own firm to serve clients on their behalf, rather than for the benefit of a corporation. In 2020, Michael’s firm has formally evolved into a new company with multiple advisors called Pinpoint Wealth Partners. This new entity has provided an opportunity to implement a succession plan structured to enable the firm to serve clients for generations to come.
As an independent life insurance producer, Michael consistently involves himself with private industry leadership groups to share best practices and grow his own knowledge base. He is a current member of the Alpha study group through Lion Street, a leading national financial services company owned by fiercely independent financial advisors. Prior to Lion Street, he was affiliated with National Financial Partners (NFP) and served on the board from 2007 – 2011. Michael is also active in his local community by serving on the board for The Jobs Partnerships. It is a faith-based non-profit organization that is dedicated to building a healthy workforce through the transformation of the economically trapped, by empowering them with God’s truth, elevating their workplace abilities and attitudes, and enhancing their employability.
Outside of the office, you will find Michael on the golf course, traveling, hiking or spending time with his family and friends. Michael and his wife Kim spend half of the year in the mountains of North Carolina, where Michael maintains an office and plays as many rounds of golf at Diamond Creek as possible. They are both active members of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Michael uses kindness and trust to guide his belief system and he lives his life by the simple principle of treating others the way he would like to be treated. His life motto includes the ideology that “the only thing we can control in our lives is our attitude – and 90% of what we do is related to our attitude.”
